Good home cooked meals. The restaurant is no fuss. Waitstaff is always friendly and helpful. There is a reason it's still always busy!

Eat there sit and eat so you can get a proper order as take outs are a complete disaster even after numerous conversations on mistakes in orders it’s absolute carelessness will not ever order or eat there again ! Poor poor customer service ... needs better and more experienced service and hospitality staff 100%

The service is great everyone was friendly and the food was out of this world good. If you get a chance go to Rapid Valley for supper it's well worth the trip.

Busy night tonight at Rapid Valley with locals and tourists filling the restaurant up. We found a seat quickly and were attended to by our waitress within minutes. Our dinners were brought to us within 10 minutes from when we ordered. I had the smothered October fest sausage and Deanna had the smothered chicken, both were excellent.

Good breakfast, large portions for the price. Chocolate chip pancakes bursting with chips, kid approved.

Friendly stuff, good meal. Be warned for big portions!

Brocolli soup tasted off, kinda like dish water got spilled in it. But the sweet potato fries were great with some gravy! Pizza was hot and tasty! Our server was very friendly and also didn't charge for the soup, so overall not a bad visit!

Comparing to other restaurants with similar menu items & prices, I give it a 5. I really like the refreshed nautical decor & refreshed menu. For those prices you don't expect gourmet cooking, but there is a good variety, and lots of comfort food. We love to get out of the "city" for the drive and small community feel of Rapid Valley.

Always great food and service

We are here for breakfast and the place is packed - we had to wait for about 5 mins for a table - lots of people love this place - speaks for itself.

Excellent dinner. Food was very good and huge portions. Pie's are amazing! Took a bit of time to get our food but it is worth waiting for.

Simple, good food with hearty servings. I have been coming here for years and have enjoyed the comfort food every time. Owners have changed recently but food still seems to hold up. I do miss the local art that used to be on all the walls and for sale.

Well... I have been here for breakfast in the past and the food was good, the portions were fair and the service was also good.We rented a cottage and I talked the other 9 cottagers into some take out from Rapid Valley on this rainy day. Very disappointed. Hot hamburger sandwiches were lacking in gravy. The burger was not seasoned at all.No gravy at all on the mashed potatoes... very blah.The bacon double cheeseburger with "everything" on it only had lettuce and tomatoes?? Why no ketchup, mustard etc.?My expectations were maybe too high?We were planning on doing a group breakfast there later in the week, but I think we will change our plans.

Great restaurant. Large portion sizes for very reasonable prices. Went with my family for a gathering and they were able to accommodate our party of 23. The pancakes were bigger than my nephew. Go hungry and you’ll leave happy!

Went to this homey restaurant on the way back from camping. It was worth the detour! Thoroughly enjoyed my poutine and the coleslaw that I ordered with it was huge! The coffee was very good, the service fast and friendly. Two of my friends ordered the Farmer's platter and had to take some home; another ordered the hot roast beef sandwich and really enjoyed it. I can understand why this place was so busy. Take some of the baked goods located near the cash with you; I loved the date square I took home for later.

I was over there for work and we suggest me this place. It was delicious except French patatos, maybe it were because they had no French there

Strike 3 & 4!This time, I ordered a large vegetarian pizza and added 3 toppings. When the pizza came I was attempting to keep my distance and so was told 3 times to get 2 bottles of pop (in front of and in hearing distance of the cashier). I brought the two bottles up to the counter where it was all rung in, to find that I wasn't entitled to the pop after all because I had not ordered a 3 topping pizza (I had actually ordered more) - strike 3 .... Got the pizza home and not only was the order wrong (strike 4), it wasn't cut either. I try to "shop local" but enough is enough, 4 issues in row (yes there were 2 other issues, two other separate times that I did not mention). I will not be returning.

Two of the three meals were amazing.

Decent diner. Excellent service at the front desk. Waitresses are hit and miss. Never order the specials as they take forever and come cold. Best to go when it isn't busy. Food is often good during slower times and the deserts are generally quite large and decadent. Front desk staff is professional and friendly.

I've been to Rapid Valley multiple times since 2014 and recently the food quality has dipped vastly. My favourite meals are now something completely different as new ingredients and preparation is introduced.My most recent pizza came damaged, wasn't fully cooked, and lacked cutting which all seem standard for a restaurant to want to have when the food leaves out the door. Would recommend dinning in the restaurant to avoid these problems or get them fixed on location. Baked goods are very great compared to the rest! Fair price and large variety available fresh each day near the front cash.

Get the cherry cheese cake. Top marks for the eats. Service is Outstanding. 5*

We stopped by here on the way back from Montreal and we were thoroughly satisfied with service (by our server Brittney), food, and amazing home-made desserts. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich which was great, but when I had a bite of the pork sandwich that my friend ordered I immediately realized I should've done the same! I'll be sure to come back again.

This is a wonderful old fashioned country restaurant about 110 km from Ottawa. We discovered it on our way home from Toronto. Not classy. Not fancy. But warm and welcoming. People wait in line to get the home cooked food. Many customers obviously know each other ! Great roast beef! Generous salads. When was the last time you had warm home made apple pie made right in the restaurant kitchen ?! Worth the wait!

Recently renovated and I'm a little disappointed. While the renos are nice, they take away much of the character and comfort I'd come to associate with rapid valley. Same usual staff, the service was good, but the food seemed changed. I ordered my usual, a hot turkey sandwich, and was extremely disappointed to find it came with only corn rather than the previous medley of peas, carrots, corn, and beans. Had cheesecake for dessert and the texture was appalling. Extremely grainy, like it hadn't been mixed. All in all, we will be back because options are limited in the area, but I do miss the homey-ness of the old rapid valley.

A wonderful place, great service, delicious food

This place is GREAT !!!....Wondered about the changes that the new owners brought in. I was wrong to worry, this place was great before, now, it has improved...everything that was good about the old place and now there are improvements. First improvement you see is when you walk in the door. No longer is it tight quarters in the "lobby" nice and open and you can see into the seating area easily. The next improvement showed on my phone a few seconds later, when my phone told me that Rapid Valley accepts Google Pay. Updating the cashout experience is a lovely update. Next, the coffee has changed...for the better to my taste...and everyone at my tables as well.. The menu was new..and clear and makes it easy to read in a hurry. The food...was what I expect at Rapid Valley. Delicious and Plentiful. I really can't wait for our next trip to Rapid Valley!!

This is a cozy little restaurant. Art hanging on the wall is beautiful, and for sale. It clearly supports its community and gives good vibes. The desserts look huge. Breakfast (chocolate chip pancakes) was delicious.
